The house is characterized as a variation on a courtyard house, in which the open outdoor spaces and their relationship with the walls create a natural extension of each interior space and foster an intimate connection with the nature enclosed by the walls.

The covered outdoor spaces also offer the possibility of spending time outdoors while sheltered from the sun, in harmony with the landscape surrounding the house.

Inside, the spaces open up to the east and south, interacting with the natural beauty of the surroundings and the magnificent cork oak trees that surround them.

From the perspective of integration into the landscape, the architectural solution aims for a contemporary design that is simultaneously rooted in the place’s origins.

 It adapts to the topographical conditions in terms of its size and configuration, while ensuring architectural, landscape, functional, and material integration through the use of local materials and colors—such as the smooth, reddish-ochre screed and the earth-toned walls.

 

The principle of not cutting down any existing trees and adapting to the topography—so as to avoid the need for major earthworks—is upheld.
